As well as the Outer reef on board Pacific Star you will also explore Whitehaven beach, over 6 km of pure white silica sand often know as ‘Heaven on Earth’. Photographs of this stunning location are icons for all those who are familiar with the classic images promoting Australia. This is the place were Marriage proposals are common place and sheer beauty and surreal enviroment just make you happy to be here. The huge stretch of white silica sand is amongst the purest in the world, its easy to find your own quiet place and lay down your towel to soak up the warm sun. Sink your feet into the squeaky clean sand and wade into the warm waters of the Pacific Ocean. Whitehaven beach is most definitely a must see of the magnificent Whitsundays.
Pacific Star works with Mother Nature and goes where she allows us to go. We explore the reef systems that no other boats have been to for 10-20 years in the Whitsundays Great Barrier Reef. You will be diving and snorkelling reef systems that look like the postcards and documentaries. The reef systems we explore are 40-90 nautical miles (70-160km) from the Whitsundays Abel Point Marina.
Pacific Star and crew cater for the experienced certified diver, first time novice diver and snorkelers. If you would like to further your dive training we offer the Padi Adventure and Advanced dive courses on board. We can also finish off the Padi Open Water dive course (open water dives only and dive medical required). If you are unsure about getting in the water the crew do their best to help you enjoy your Great Barrier Reef experience. We follow the Queensland OH&S & PADI Standards of Practice.
Pacific Star is the only purpose built reef exploring vessel in the Whitsundays. She is an 18m long, 8m wide motor/sailing catamaran with seven en-suite cabins , we sail her as much as possible, the less fuel we burn the better for the environment and the further we can take you. Her crew have been trained by skippers and documentary videographers with 20-30 years experience on the Whitsundays Great Barrier Reef. Also with 20 years diving experience on board we take you to the best sites that weather conditions permit. We try to do all our travelling when you are resting so you can spend your time exploring the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef.
